This group of women loves one another so well, gives back to their community, and has a great time doing it! Eleanor Willming, Theta Iota's amazinggg merch chair, gave us all the fun details on what it looks like to be a Tri Delt at K State!

Seas the Day for the Kids

If there’s one thing we know for sure about Delta Delta Delta chapters - they put in WORK when it comes to their philanthropy. They have been busy raising money to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 1999, and dang have they delivered. Just last April Tri Delta completed its 10-year, $60 million fundraising commitment - TWO YEARS ahead of schedule!

They couldn’t have done it, though, without amazing chapters like Theta Iota. This past summer, they were named the Top Fundraising Chapter in the DDD gold division!! They raised over $71,000 in a year - that’s HUGE! It’s such an incredible honor and shows how hard they worked as a chapter to achieve such an insane goal.

You can’t raise all that $$ without some fun philanthropy events, and Tri Delt at Kansas State delivers in that category! This past September, they threw their annual carnival event at the house - Seas the Day for St. Jude. It was a full blown carnival on the front lawn, complete with a dunk tank! Families in the community got to bring their kids to enjoy the festivities and dunk some Deltas! They could also get their face painted, win some prizes at carnival games, and have a great time at the Delta Shelta! They also had Kona Ice … because what’s a carnival without some sweet treats??

We got to help design the shirts for the occasion … and we might be biased … but they’re some of the cutest philanthropy shirts out there!! Eleanor killed it with the design, bringing all the summer carnival vibes together with the bright colors and sunshine. There’s nothing better than getting to be a small part of such an incredible philanthropy event, especially one as fun as Seas the Day!

It Doesn't End There ...

Seas the Day is amazing and might be one of our favorite philanthropy events to date, but that's not all Theta Iota does to raise money for St. Jude! They're the top fundraising chapter across all gold Delta Delta Delta chapters, after all :)

Their most classic philanthropy event - DHOP! Thrown usually every November, Delta House of Pancakes brings the whole community together for unlimited pancakes and to support the kids! This year, Eleanor talked about their plans for a disco theme to really make DHOP 2022 one to remember. We can't wait to see all the yummy pancakes, the gorg shirts they make, and how much money they raise for St. Jude!!

But that's still not all!! Delta Delta Delta at Kansas State University also throws an in-house philanthropy event every year, Sincerely Yours. Everyone comes together and writes letters to family and friends, asking for donations to go towards St. Jude. This week-long event lets girls hang out with each other, eat pizza, and have a great time raising a ton of money for their incredible philanthropy.Last year, Theta Iota partnered with Sigma Chi to make their impact even BIGGER ... raising $17,000 in donations alone! Now THAT'S why they're the top philanthropic chapter at K State.

If that wasn't impressive enough, DDD at K State also throws an online fundraising challenge in the Spring - 20K in a Day. That's right, they try and raise $20,000 in 24 hours. But they don't just try ... they've passed their goal multiple times since they started this challenge! Last semester, they raised over $24,000 from bingo boards and reaching out for donations.

Basically, Delta Delta Delta at Kansas State University takes the cake for philanthropy events. The passion and love they put into each of these events does not go unnoticed - just look at those big donation numbers one more time!

You can't have an incredible philanthropy without an even more incredible sisterhood!Eleanor talked about what makes her chapter stand out from the rest, and she couldn't help but brag about how unique each sister is. They have girls from all over and in all different clubs! From cheer to dance to rowing (just to name a few,) you'll always be able to meet someone new at Tri Delta.

One thing that makes Delta Delta Delta at Kansas State University special from the rest - their house! Eleanor talked about how almost all Sophomore and Juniors live in house, which sounds like a blast ... especially if you see how gorgeous the Delta Shelta is! Getting to live in with your entire pledge class is so special and makes those years being a Tri Delta even more memorable. The entire chapter gets to live in during Work Week, letting everyone hang out and get ready for Recruitment!

They also levelled up Work Week with a scavenger hunt and dance off, letting girls blow off steam to prepare for Recruitment. The winners got Starbucks giftcards, because let's face it, caffeine is really the only way to survive Work Week :)

It's all worth it though, when you get to meet new girls during the rounds and show them why Delta Delta Delta means so much to you. Eleanor said that was her favorite part of being on the floor this year, showing girls all the amazing parts of her sorority! Whether they went Tri Delt or not, it's always the best meeting new people and bonding with your sisters even more.

Dreaming of Tri Delta

As if this chapter isn't amazing enough, they some some of the sweetest sisterhood events and date parties! Eleanor talked aboutsome of the chapter fav events and all the fun things Theta Iota does around Mahattan, Kansas.

Delta Davidson - maybe the best name for a biker themed social?? We love a good theme, and this Harley Davidson date party might be our favorite one of the year. The whole chapter headed to Aggieville, orange bandanas and leather jackets everywhere, and celebrated the start of the Fall semester! Looked like a night to remember :))

If you're wanting some more chill Manhattan hangs, Eleanor gave all the Tri Delta favs around town. The Konza Prairie trail is GORGEOUS (if you've never been, please Google it now) and looks like the perfect way to spend a Sunday in MHK. It's either that or cookie bakes at Mr. K's ... and after hearing Eleanor explain what they are, it might be a close call. Ice cream and warm cookies?? Tri Delt at K State seems to be living the dream.

And no dream is complete without getting your dotties! Eleanor talked about how excited she was to get her little at the Mom/Dot Reveal. She was her rush crush during Recruitment, making the addition to the fam extra sweet!! And with a pajama themed reveal, you can't help but dream to be a Delta!
